Thomas J. Arata

Thomas J. Arata, Managing Director of The Reilly International Group Ltd., has extensive experience in developing and implementing strategies for investigative research and field investigations in support of litigation matters, due diligence, and asset searches.  Mr. Arata was associated with Decision Strategies LLC from 1991 through 2004. He was Director of Research in the firm’s New York office from 1994 through 1998, and relocated to London to assist with the opening of the Decision Strategies UK office in January 1999, where he served as Director of Research through early 2001. Prior to his affiliation with Decision Strategies, Mr. Arata was a senior research associate in the New York office of Kroll Associates from 1987 until 1990.

From 1981 until 1986, Mr. Arata served as a litigation legal assistant at the New York law firm Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson, where he was involved in merger and acquisition matters during the peak phase of hostile takeover activity, and also assisted on other complex commercial litigation cases.

While at Fried Frank, Mr. Arata was assigned to the investigative staff of the firm’s head of litigation who had been appointed as a federal Special Prosecutor under the Independent Counsel Statute to inquire into allegations of organized crime affiliations on the part of a Reagan administration Cabinet officer. Following his tenure at Fried Frank, Mr. Arata worked in the litigation section of the general counsel’s office of CBS Inc.
